SAVE Suicide Prevention Training

AURORA, Colo. – Veterans Affairs (VA) Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) will host their quarterly Operation S.A.V.E training on Thursday, September 5th, 2019 in the auditorium of the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, located at 1700 N. Wheeling St., Aurora, CO 80045. The 1-hour training will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.

Operation S.A.V.E. was developed as the first Veteran-specific gatekeeper training program for suicide prevention. S.A.V.E. stands forSigns of suicide,Asking about suicide,Validating feelings,Encouraging help and Expediting treatment.This one-hour training was developed to empower everyone to play a vital role in suicide prevention. It provides the audience with a general understanding of the suicide problem in the United States; how to identify a Veteran who may be at risk for suicide; and, finally, what to do if you identify a Veteran at risk.
