State Parks FREE for Military Members in August

All active-duty military personnel and veterans, along with their families, can receive free admission to all Colorado state parks throughout the month of August.

In honor of our active-duty military and veterans, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be offering free admission to all of Colorado’s 41 state parks for the entire month of August.

“We greatly appreciate our active duty service members and veterans for their service to our country,” said CPW Area Wildlife Manager Kris Middledorf in a statement. “We also recognize that it goes beyond the individual service member or veteran, it also includes the spouses and children who spend their lives supporting their family members who may be in harm’s way or serving in an essential role in the defense of our nation.”

To receive your free pass, simply bring proof of military service to any Colorado Parks and Wildlife office or state park — Veterans Affairs medical cards, active or retired military IDs, state-issued ID cards with the veteran seal, DD Form 2, DD214, or DD Form 2765 will be accepted. This offer is for veterans and active-duty military personnel, including active duty, Reserve, and National Guard members.

If you are already in the Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s system as an active-duty military member or veteran, then no further proof is required.
