14er-Mt. Quandary

5 October | 3am | Cost: $50 | Minimum Age: 16+ | 6.6 Miles Very Hard Difficulty

Quandary Peak is widely regarded as one of the easier, least technical Fourteener’s to summit. None of the Fourteener’s are easy hikes due to the high elevation and variable weather conditions. At the summit of Quandary Peak you will have views of Ten Mile and Gore Range. A pre-trip meeting will be required before going on this 14er trip. Must have recent hiking experience over 10,000 ft. to participate.

Cost includes: Transportation, Guide, and Trekking Poles.

R4R- Air Soft

8 October | 7:30 am | Cost: $50 | *R4R: $20 | Minimum Age 10+

Want to be part of your own real life tactical adventure? If so, then airsoft is the activity for you! Airsoft uses small plastic BB’s to play shooting games similar to those you would play in paintball but without the mess. We will play on 65 acres of fields scattered with obstacles and barricades. Duck and cover behind planes, boats, cars, buildings, and more on themed fields. (If there is inclement weather on the day of the Airsoft Games we will play inside the Airsoft Coliseum)

Cost includes: Transportation, Gun, Ammo and PPE.

Estes Park Via Ferratta

9 October | 6am | Cost: $130 | *R4R: $70 | Minimum Age 18

A via ferrata is a climbing route that employs steel cables, rungs or ladders, fixed to the rock to which the climbers affix a harness with two leashes, which allows the climbers to secure themselves to the metal fixture and limit any fall risk. This Via Ferrata climbs Devilles Rocks and has breath taking views of the Rockies.

Providing Financial Stability for Your Special Needs Child: Special Needs Trusts and ABLE Accounts

There are two types of financial planning tools for those who have a child with a disability. Both Special Needs Trusts and ABLE accounts allow for your dependent to receive income without counting against income eligibility for Medicaid or Social Security Supplemental Income purposes. Please join the Military and Family Readiness Center and the Legal Assistance Office on 11 October at 11am in the Building 606 Auditorium to learn about these important financial tools.

Finish your CCAF with Colorado Christian University

Christian University is regionally accredited and offers education classes on Buckley AFB.  Each class meets one night per week for five weeks.  Sign up now before it’s too late!

CCU will be offering ENG 106A Investigative Writing on base 10/4/22-11/1/2022. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm located at the Cyber Center Bldg on Buckley SFB.

TA must be requested no less than seven days before class start date.
