Live in Aurora? Are you a veteran, drilling reservist or guardsman, or serving on active duty? Want to help serve your fellow veterans? We have an opportunity (actually, several)! The City of Aurora’s Veterans Affairs Commission is looking for volunteers to serve on the commission. The commission’s role is to advise the city council on the concerns of veterans relating to transportation, housing, employment, and other areas affecting veterans in the city. Additionally, the commission serves as a source of information regarding resources and services available to veterans. Appointments are open to Aurora veterans, guardsmen, reservists, and active-duty members who are registered to vote in Aurora, Colorado. Commissioners serve for three years and are asked to attend monthly meetings and support Commission events and programs. The Commission meets once a month on the second Thursday from 6-7:30 PM. The first meeting of each quarter is face-to-face at Aurora City Hall, and the remaining two are virtual.

If you are interested in serving on the Commission, please review our website here.

Applications for service on the Commission can be found here. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and go to the last page of the listing of Boards and Commissions. Select VIEW
