Project Sanctuary is an organization that is focused on mental health, serving veterans, spouses, caregivers, and children as a family unit with a fully licensed and professional staff. The organization believes that when one person serves, the whole family serves. Project Sanctuary’s mission takes a human-centered, solution-based approach to help military families heal and move forward in life; through innovative long-term programming focused on connectedness, the organization hopes to restore hope and empower families to recover and thrive.

Project Sanctuary is hosting therapeutic retreats in eight states across the country that are staffed and designed by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, licensed counselors and social workers on the organization’s staff. Some of the dates that are currently available in Colorado are November 3-8, 2023.

“Our retreats and classes are designed for families to come together and gain tools and resources in three key areas: Relationship Reconnection, Strengthening family Finances, and Post Traumatic Growth,” said the organization. “Parents experience workshops in these specific areas led by trained professionals, and children experience fun age-appropriate activities around similar topics to ensure the family can come together and build stronger relationships. Throughout the week, families will participate in fun indoor and outdoor recreational activities together,  making memories guaranteed to last a lifetime. Families will complete their retreat by having professional family photos taken.
